A Well Needed Update!

Well I haven't been on here in a long time and I apologize!

To update you on what all is going on my Dad Doug who was over ALL the Scotland missions and this blog got diagnosed back in November with stage 4 (the worst and last stage) of colon cancer and started chemo. Right now, by the grace of God he is still alive :) and it's a miracle! The cancer in the Colon has GONE! yeh that's right, God has taken the cancer away in the colon, how awesome is that!! He still has some lesions in his liver so right now we have started the 2nd round of chemo after a 2 and a half month break. Please be in prayer for him, Doug is an awesome guy and is a big part of my life. He had to give up his job when he got diagnosed and also his position of Scotland mission leader.

My situation is different, while my Dad has stepped down from his role due to health issues I've stepped up and helping a LARGE youth group of 29 total to go to Nicaragua and present the gospel in many different ways. You can see all that goes on at yuthpreach.blogspot.com. We leave Sunday for a week long mission and I can't wait. From the first time which was 4yrs ago that I came over to America and went to Fairvew Baptist I've heard about Leon Nicaragua and ever since then I have had a passion to go and work with the kids there. Finally, God has provided a way and I am pumped!! I probably wont be able to get online while I am down there because our schedule is insanely packed but Greg the yuthpreach will update it regularly with pictures, videos and info.

I hope your all having a great 4th of July and I will update again soon. Hopefully before i leave Sunday. Thanks for your prayers :)

SEX - Now or Later?

"the sex thing...does this mean that God doesn't want us to have sex before marriage?"

Here is what the Bible has to say on the subject... There are other verses, but these will pretty well give you God's opinion on it!

1 Corinthians 10:13 - No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.

1 Corinthians 6:18-20 - Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body. 19 Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.

Ephesians 5:3 - But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God's holy people.

1 Corinthians 6:13b - The body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.

1 Thessalonians 4:3-5 - It is God's will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality; 4 that each of you should learn to control his own body in a way that is holy and honorable, 5 not in passionate lust like the heathen, who do not know God;

Pretty clear-cut, huh? Here is another voice on the same subject. Bill Keller runs an internet ministry and writes a daily devotional newsletter. He shoots straight on a lot of topics, telling what God's Word has to say on a variety of subjects, whether or not it is "politically correct". (You can subscribe to the newsletter for FREE at: www.liveprayer.com/signup.htm

Anyway, here is an excerpt on the subject of sex outside marriage and living together:

"The Bible is crystal clear about sex. It is a gift from God to be enjoyed by a man and a woman in the bonds of marriage. PERIOD! If you are married and engage in sexual acts OR THOUGHTS with someone other than your spouse, you have committed the sin of adultery. If you are not married and commit ANY sexual acts it is called fornication and is defined as sin all throughout the Bible. If you are not married and have sexual thoughts about someone you have committed the sin of lust.

"Are these high standards? ABSOLUTELY! God has called His children to live UP to a high standard, unlike the world that calls people to live DOWN to no standard at all. Like in all things, God's plan for sex is designed so that we can know the peace, the joy, and the abundance of this life. His ways are NOT designed to deprive us of the enjoyment that this life can offer, but to INSURE the enjoyment that this life can offer.

"Those who follow God's way in regard to sex know the incredible joy it is when that most intimate of all activities is shared with the person that God has given you to be your partner for the rest of your life. Those who rebel and do it their way, know the pain and heartache of the consequences of their rebellion. Break-ups, children out of wedlock, lifetime diseases, depression, financial problems, low self-esteem, the list is endless.

"My friend, there is ALWAYS a huge price to pay when we do it our way and rebel against God. A bigger price than weever dreamed of. So the first reason it is NOT God's plan for a man and woman to live together is to avoid sexual sin.

"I know of NO ONE who has EVER regretted waiting until they were married to have sex... But I know MANY who are filled with regrets and heartache and scars that will never heal simply because they chose to misuse this incredible gift from God... It is meant to be opened AFTER you are married... not before.

For those of you reading this who have already made the mistake... please know that God is in the forgiving business. Simply confess your sin to Him, and ask Him to forgive you. Then turn from sexual sin and WAIT... Your future spouse and you will BOTH be glad you did!

Plan of Salvation

Have you ever heard of Jesus? Do you know He can take away ALL your sins, save you from yourself? Do YOU want to know Him?

It says in the Bible in Romans 3:23 :

"For all have sinned; all fall short of God's glorious standard"

We have ALL sinned, nobody is perfect part of Jesus who came to die for us.... By believing in Him he will take all your sin from you and give you peace and so much more!

It also says in Romans 6:23 :

"The wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord."

A wage is something you earn, if we ALL got what we earned/deserved then we would ALL go to hell. But by asking God to forgive you, and asking Him to be your Savior and Admiting your wrong He takes all that sin away and you will receive God's FREE GIFT.

Bare with me, there are 2 more verses i want to show you...

Romans 10: 9-10 :

"9 For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved."

All you need to do is TELL God that you BELIEVE that Jesus came down to save you, to wash away your sin and save you from this world.

John 1:12 :

"12 But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God."

If you BELIEVE and ACCEPT, God PROMISES that you WILL become one of His CHILDREN...

Hope this helps a little.... If you've got any questions or want to know more then let me know.

Take care and I'll be praying for you.

Treating Yourself like as a Child of God

Is the Soul of a Child Worth $1 to You? Click Here for more info...

The devil wants us to settle for the crumbs that fall from the table. Do not accept what the enemy wants for you! Jesus said in Luke 10:19, "You have been given power and authority over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means harm you."

As Christians, we are children of the Most High God, set apart and made holy by the blood of the Lamb and "Greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world" (1 John 4:4).

Our attitude should be, "I am a king's kid and I deserve the best! I am born again, adopted into the family of God, and joint-heirs with Christ. What is His, is mine (Rom 8:17, Gal 3:29), and I decide right now to commit myself to a better way of life."

Help these kids in having a better life, pray for them daily and show them how much you care.

Plan of Salvation

Plan of Salvation

The Bible teaches that God has provided salvation in the person and work of Jesus Christ. Jesus was made to assume our flesh, die in our stead, rise again from the dead, ascend to the Father, receive the place of power at God's right hand, and appear before God in the believer's behalf. He is to come again to consummate redemption. This work of God's Son was for the purpose of saving us from the guilt, the penalty, the power, and ultimately the presence of sin. Salvation was provided for those who believe in Christ and walk in his ways. Faith is the only condition to salvation, and it is the gift of God.

John 3:16 says "For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life"

Today, can be the day that you make the most important decision you make in this life. Where will you spend eternity? Jesus died so that your sins could be forgiven and you could live forever in heaven when this life is over. All you have to do is pray this simple prayer.

PRAYER
"God, I am a sinner. I ask you to forgive me of my sins. I believe in my heart, and confess with my lips, that Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior. Come into my heart Jesus. Take my life, I surrender it to you. From this moment on, I will live my life according to the Bible and serve you. Thank you for taking away my sins and giving me everlasting life. In the name of Jesus I pray, amen"

Children's Ministry begins with a Heart like Christ

"Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me does not welcome me but the one who sent me."

Mark 9 : 37

We need to be Jesus to these kids!

"Children don't care how much you know until they know how much you care"

Whoever receives one of these little children in My name receives Me; and whoever receives Me, receives not Me but Him who sent Me.” Mark 9:37 (NKJV)

It used to be that we had until about age 17 to reach lost young people before the world hardened their hearts. However, the latest studies now show that if we don’t reach children with the gospel of Jesus Christ by the age of 13, the hearts of most are too stony for the seeds of the Word to take root...

32% of kids will accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior between the ages of 5-12

4% will accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior between the ages of 13-18

and only 6% of people will accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior after the age of 19.

Can you believe this, only 5% of people will ever embrace Jesus as their Lord and Saviour after the age of 12... Think about that, 5 out of 100 kids ages 12 and up will go to Heaven and the other 95,well... we know where they'll go.

Pray for these kids daily, be Jesus to them and let Him shine through you!
